These terms set the ground rules for using ProfitLens Analytics as a merchant-facing Shopify embedded app.

1. Scope

These Terms of Service govern a merchant's use of ProfitLens Analytics as a Shopify embedded app and any related merchant support interactions.

If you install, access, or use ProfitLens, you agree to these terms on behalf of the business you represent. If you do not have authority to bind that business, do not use the app.

2. What the service is

ProfitLens is a merchant-facing analytics product designed to help Shopify merchants understand retained profit, margin pressure, cost-model assumptions, refund impact, fee impact, shipping impact, and related operating signals.

ProfitLens is provided as software. It supports operational analysis and does not replace accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice.

3. Merchant account and Shopify connection

  • You must keep your Shopify store account and embedded app access secure.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of merchant-provided settings, including cost assumptions, COGS overrides, and other commercial inputs entered into the app.
  • If Shopify access is revoked, billing is not confirmed, or the app is uninstalled, access to some or all functionality may stop.

4. Billing and plan changes

Paid plan charges and subscription changes are handled through Shopify's billing flow. Your use of paid functionality may depend on successful Shopify subscription confirmation and ongoing payment status.

Plan scope, pricing, and trial mechanics may change over time. Any updates will appear in the live billing flow and related merchant-facing materials.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not use ProfitLens in a way that violates law, Shopify rules, or the rights of others.
  • Do not attempt to interfere with the app, bypass billing or access controls, probe for vulnerabilities, or use the product to harm service reliability.
  • Do not submit unnecessary personal data in support forms or other free-text areas.

6. Merchant responsibilities

  • You remain responsible for your Shopify data, your internal commercial decisions, and the actions you take based on app outputs.
  • Review the app's trust indicators, missing-data warnings, and configuration state before treating outputs as decision-grade.
  • Keep your own records, backup workflows, and legal documentation appropriate for your business.

7. Privacy and data handling

ProfitLens processes merchant and store data as described in the Privacy Policy. If your business requires a DPA, review the Data Processing Addendum page and contact ProfitLens using the published privacy contact path.

8. Availability, changes, and support

ProfitLens aims to provide a reliable service, but uptime, response times, features, and support processes may evolve over time.

The operator may modify, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for product development, security, compliance, infrastructure, or commercial reasons.

9. Warranty disclaimer

ProfitLens is provided on an as-available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without any guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every commercial purpose.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ProfitLens and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, or data arising from use of the service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, liability is limited to the amount paid for the service during the period that directly relates to the claim, unless a different minimum standard applies under mandatory law.

11. Termination

You may stop using ProfitLens at any time by uninstalling the app and ending any paid plan through Shopify where applicable.

ProfitLens may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for non-payment, abuse, legal risk, platform requirements, or protection of the service.
